Coming out of the pantry

28 March 2010
We can't remember when we've been so glad to see the end of the month approaching! We made it! We survived an entire month without shopping for groceries! Our only shops in March were for bread, milk, butter, and distilled water. We did pick up some paper products at Rite-Aid, but paid for them with the $25 gift card we got for transferring a prescription. There are still a couple dozen veggie cans, 6-7 tuna tins, 3 jars of pasta sauce, and quite a bit of pasta and rice in the cupboard, as well as a few items in the freezer, including chicken, veggies and 3 small pizzas. We made beefaroni today, using the last pound of ground beef and Bertolli's Vidalia onion pasta sauce. It was a hit and will do us for two meals.

Payday is rolling around just in time to use the $10/$50 WD catalina at Publix. Thanks ever so, Michelle at I HEART PUBLIX for making my list-making so easy!

About Me

My photo
I'm a native-born Florida Cracker, graduated Christian home schooling mom/teacher, jill of all trades and mistress of none. Rising prices and dwindling assets pushed me over the edge from casual to extreme couponing. In the first quarter of 2010, we cut our grocery budget from $1600+/- to $300! I always thought all those 'coupon queen' stories weren't for average people like me. Was I ever wrong! Just jump in and start clipping. Check out some of the super savers in my blog list. Honestly, I know you've heard this before, but REALLY, if I can do it, ANYBODY can!
